History

Otomatch.com was founded in 2001 by Daniel J. Lee while an otolaryngology-head and neck surgery resident at Johns Hopkins. The site administration was taken over in 2005 by Sam Reyes.
In 2008, Justin Golub helped design a new website. Shortly thereafter, the residency interview calendar was developed.
In 2015, an alliance was formed with Headmirror.com. Surveys of medical student rotation and interview experiences were added in 2015.
In 2017, we adopted a spreadsheest format for chitchat and crowdsourced applicant stats.
In 2019, we started the Otomatch Top 3 Ranklist Survey.
We continue to encourage research on Otolaryngology Education at the medical student and residency level. Please visit our Research Survey page for more info.
